From Leonardo da Vinci's Canal Harbour to the Maritime Museum, from Parco Levante to the most characteristic streets and squares, Cesenatico is a cradle of history and tradition where you can rediscover an ancient village of sailors.

All to be discovered even in winter with many events and fairs, during the Christmas holidays it is dressed in lights, decorations and colors that are the backdrop to Christmas markets, the Santa Claus Village and the renowned Nativity of the Maritime Industry.

Leonardesco Canal Harbour

The Canal Harbour is the place around which the old town of Cesenatico rises, and the most beautiful and characteristic streets of the city branch off. Built on an original design by Leonardo da Vinci in 1502, along the canal are some of the most important monuments such as Piazza Pisacane, the nineteenth-century fish market and Piazza delle Conserve.

Maritime Museum

An obligatory stop for anyone visiting Cesenatico, the Maritime Museum is the only one in Italy that, in addition to the normal exhibition on land, also has a floating section with eleven boats in the water and a navigational section with three boats that are kept operational to preserve and re-propose the ancient art of navigation.

Nativity of the Marine

The Presepe della Marineria is the only floating nativity scene in the world and is set in Leonardo da Vinci's Canal Harbour. Hosted by the boats of the Museo della Marineria, the first edition of the Presepe della Marineria took place in 1986 and counted 7 sculptures: today it hosts 50 life-size statues made of wood, canvas and wax, the same materials used to build the traditional boats.

Cesenatico on ice

From mid-November to mid-January, adults and children can skate a stone's throw from the sea. In Piazza Andrea Costa, available for two months for fans of this sport and for those who want to try it for the first time, the ice skating rink of Cesenatico. Also always present the refreshment point "Baita di mare", where you can drink typical mountain drinks, exceptionally also on the sand.

Christmas markets

From the beginning of December until the beginning of January, every year the Christmas Markets are held along the Canal Harbour, illuminated by thousands of lights. Here you can buy decorations, decorations and handicrafts, but you can also taste typical local products. Colors, scents and atmospheres not to be missed.

Parco di Levante

The Levante Park of Cesenatico is the green lung of the city, a few steps from the sea. With its surface of 40 hectares, in it you can find pines, poplars, oaks, tamarisks and alders. The whole park is equipped with paths that can be covered by bike or on foot and there are also two small lakes with swans and ducks, two playgrounds for children, a picnic area and a summer bar.
